Antique Revolver Spangenberg & Sauer Reichsrevolver (M79) in 44 Russian
RESERVE is set at $2500 on this item.. Made in Germany in 1881..
This great collectible firearm has been tested and it works 100% as it should.
This is the The Model of 1879 was issued with a 7 inch - 10.6mm x 25R mm Barrel
which sported a rather fancy ring to the muzzle.
Overall condition is very good for its age - no damage is evident anywhere. It is missing
the lanyard ring at base of grip.
Finish is shinny all over with a some darker spots in a few areas.
On left side of frame is an oval with S&S V. C. o C.C.H. SUHL which is the stamp
for Spangenberg & Sauer the maker.
Serial number is 2569 which is stamped all over the gun.
All number MATCH right down to screw heads which are also stamped with the last
2 didgets of the setial number. Also has 1881 stamped on frame which may indicate
manufacture date.
On the heel of the grip is stamped 1 GA 6 36 which may be the Military Unit number.
Chambered in the 44 Russian (10.9 x 24 mm R - commonly known as the .44 S&W
Russian)
This is a black-powder center-fire metallic revolver cartridge developed and
produced by Smith & Wesson in 1870.
The Reichsrevolver or M1879 Reichsrevolver (M79) was a rather belated response
of the German army to the unification of the arsenal .
While all other armies of that time had unified arsenals of personal weapons ,
Germany only introduced identical revolvers for the needs of different parts of the
armed forces in 1879.
The result was a Model 79 revolver , very simple in design and with a simple
mechanism. In addition, this revolver lacked the ability to eject bullet casings through
a built-in system, which was already common in other models at that time.
This revolver remained in the German army until 1908, when it was replaced by the
Luger P08 semi-automatic pistol..
No PAL is required for this unit..

We cannot ship ammunition to a PO BOX - Please note that if we cannot ship to your address the item is forfeited and NO REFUND will be given..
We are NOT responsible for damage during shipping. We don't guarantee delivery times and will not refund shipping charges for parcels that are not delivered by a specific date.
Items over $200 will be insured and a signature 18+ is required (unless under $200 or going by letter mail).
NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN ON LOTS THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO SHIP TO YOU.

TERMS OF PAYMENT: At the conclusion of the Auction all items purchased will be charged to the Credit Card that was provided at registration to guarantee payment. If shipping is required for any purchase an additional charge will occur the day the item has been shipped. A $40.00 late payer fee may be added to any invoice that can't be processed at the conclusion of the sale. Please ensure that you have provided us with the correct number and expiry date. Recurring problem payers will be banned from future sales. Bidders are responsible for full payment of all their purchases at the drop of the hammer. Our Consignors are paid based on the hammer price. We will attempt to charge your credit card partial amounts until the amount is paid in full. Any purchase which has not been fully paid will be resold at the next available opportunity. Our normal commission charge (14%) will apply on re-sale. Any balance remaining unpaid after the resale will be referred to our collection agency, and or small claims court.

KOS Auctions do not guarantee or make warranties on any lot. We acknowledge that errors may occur, however, we endeavor to give you accurate information in the descriptions provided. We are available by email (pocomilitary@gmail.com ) and phone (604-796-0006) to answer questions and provide additional photographs prior to bidding, as required. No employee of KOS Auctions is authorized to make any representation or warranty, oral or written, with respect to any lot or item for sale other than the CEO.
KOS Auctions will not return or refund money if an item is not exactly in the same condition as listed in the online listing. All ratings in the online listing are subjective and are of visual opinion, no mechanical inspection is undertaken by KOS unless stated. Any concern on a listing must be addressed via email before the closing of the auction.
Any items that are purchased that we are not able to deliver will be sold at the next opportunity, regular commission charges apply to that secondary sale.
We require your full correct name and a mailing address for your items won. Customers who fail to do so, or who need the paperwork restarted due to an error on their part may be charged an administrative fee of $25.00 per lot. Please note we DO NOT ship Ammunition or Firearms to the USA. Do NOT bid on these items if you are not shipping to Canada.
Note that any items that have been purchased but are deemed “not importable/exportable” will be sold at the next opportunity. Regular commission charges apply to that secondary sale.
You have sole responsibility for your purchases. Please check with your governing body to ensure your intended purchase is importable, as well as the third-party exporter to ensure they will be able to export to your country, this should be done prior to bidding.

The Purchaser expressly acknowledges and agrees that in no event shall KOS Auctions or its associcated companies be liable for any damages including without limitation any compensatory, incidental or consequential damages.
The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. If we sell firearms that have been previously de-activated by others, these may not meet current or exportable standards. Firearms de-activated by others may or may not have a “de-activation letter” available. We are not able to search for letters for firearms de-activated by others.
