Broadhurst Clarkson P203 Telescope 25-40 Power Antique in Wood Box

RESERVE is set on this antique of $300

This is a fine example of a tapered barrel 3 draw telescope made by Broadhurst
Clarkson & Co LTD London in the early 1900's. This Pancratic telescope is very well
made and has adjustable power from 25 to 40 power and incorporates a sliding
sun shade. The telescope is made of brass and has leather cover.

The device is in excellent condition with a sharp image. Dimensions: 32.5 inches
open without sunshhade deployed, 10.5 inches closed and 1 5/8 in diameter
objective lens. After setting the desired power it focuses by pushing and pulling
slowly in and out with the second draw near the eye.

This company has tremendous significance in the UK (& Europe), and set up shop
in the late 1700's.
They were the first company to patent a design to produce seamless brass tubes.
The names Broadhurst & Clarkson became part of the company in the late 1800's,
and are very well known in the UK & Europe.

They continued during the early 1900's, producing many telescopes for the military,
and continued through to the 1970's, when they became Broadhurst, Clarkson &
Fuller.
Likely to have been made around the first world war or just after. This is in very good
condition especially for its’ vintage age.
The brass tubes focus and slide readily and exhibit the original natural aging patina
that brass takes on with age and have not been polished as far as we can see ..

The leather cover is equally in excellent condition.. Lenses are clear and sharp, no
hazeor chips,thta we can see..

Come sin a really nice wood box that is fitted for the scope ..

This is truly a wonderful peice of history..
