Lee Enfield Siamese Contract No 1 Mk 3 303 British Full Wood Rifle WW1 Era

There is a RESERVE set on this very collectible rifle of only $950.

This is a RARE Siam Contract Rifle - This unit is in exceptional condition considering
its age and where it comes from - The jungle climate is harsh..
All metal is good with some loss of bluing and patina eveident .and bore is very good..

Stamped is Siamese script which reads : Rama VIB.E. 2462 - This indicates the
Buddist Era 2462 (Which is 1919 on Western Calandar)

The TIGER mark on the stock socket is represtational for the Wild Tiger Corp,
founded by King Rama in 1911.

Has the BSA mark on top of the barrel and on left side of stock socket..

Has a period correct sling too .. sling is not marked

A quick history on this interesting rifle:
In 1920 King Vajiravudh also know as Rama VI ordered from BSA 10,000 No1 MkIII
for his volunteer force The Wild Tigers- This force also included the Royal
Bodyguard. They are quite rare and almost impossible to find in good condition...this
is apparently because most were destroyed during the Japanese invasion in WW2
and many others rotted away in the Jungle cliamte.
