Steyr M95 DEACTIVATED Bolt Action Boer War Rifle

The Mannlicher M1895 is an Austro-Hungarian straight pull bolt-action rifle, designed
by Ferdinand Ritter von Mannlicher that used a refined version of his revolutionary
straight-pull action bolt, much like the Mannlicher M1890 carbine.
The primary producers were the ŒWG in Steyr, and FÉG in Budapest.

Originally they were chambered for the round nosed 8×50mmR cartridge, but almost
all of the rifles were rechambered to accept the more powerful and longer range
spitzer 8×56mmR cartridge in the 1930s

This good condition unit has been DeActivated by cutting a hole in the breech of the barrel.
Four peice wood stock all appears orginal.
Top wood has been painted black but l;ower wood is good original color.
Wood appears all sound.
Bluing finfish is all gone .
Still retains orginal front and rear iron sights

Makes a real nice display unit.
